StayVale helps accommodation hosts create digital guest guides. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who helps us process it, and how we protect and retain it.
What we collect
We collect the information needed to provide and operate StayVale.
Account information
When you create an account, we may collect:
- Your email address
- Your name, if you choose to provide it
- Information needed to securely access your account
If you sign in with Google, we receive the basic account information needed to identify you and sign you in. We do not use your Google account for anything unrelated to authentication.
Guide information
When you create a guest guide, you may provide:
- Property name and location
- Welcome messages and guide content
- House rules and property information
- Wi-Fi and check-in information
- Local recommendations
- Photos and videos
- Your name, photo, or contact details, if you choose to include them
- Your selected design, colors, and other customization
This information is used to create and display your guest guide.
Subscription and payment information
We keep information related to your subscription and billing status so we can provide your plan and manage payments.
Payment-card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by StayVale.
What we collect from guests
Guests can open a StayVale guide without creating an account or signing in. We do not require guests to provide personal information simply to view a guide.
We do not use advertising or analytics tracking on the guest guide reader. We also do not provide hosts with information about which guests viewed their guide or how many times it was opened.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate StayVale
- Create and display your guest guides
- Maintain and secure accounts
- Process subscriptions and payments
- Send important service and account emails
- Respond to support requests
- Improve and maintain the service
- Meet applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising purposes.
Service providers
We work with trusted service providers that help us operate StayVale. Depending on the service involved, these may include:
- Cloudflare for website delivery and related infrastructure
- Amazon Web Services for hosting and storage
- Polar for subscription payments and billing
- Resend for email delivery
- Google when you choose Google sign-in
These providers process information on our behalf as needed to provide their services.
How long we keep information
We keep your information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide StayVale, operate your account, meet legal requirements, and resolve disputes.
Your guide content remains available while you keep it on StayVale. You can delete your guide and its content through your account.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live and the laws that apply to you, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information
- Request a copy of your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Exercise other rights provided by applicable privacy laws
Two of these you can do yourself, in the editor under Your data. Download a copy of everything gives you one file holding your account, your guide, and every word in it. Delete my guide and everything in it takes the published page off the web and removes the writing with it, at once. For other privacy requests or questions, contact us at [email protected].
If you are in the Philippines, you may also have the right to contact the National Privacy Commission regarding concerns about the processing of your personal information.
Cookies
StayVale uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate the service, keep you signed in, and protect your account.
We do not use advertising cookies on StayVale. The guest guide does not use advertising or analytics tracking from StayVale.
We do measure how our website and editor are used, to see what works and where people get stuck. That measurement keeps nothing on your device: no cookie, no stored identifier, and nothing that survives closing the tab.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our service or privacy practices change. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and provide additional notice where required by applicable law.
