These terms cover your use of StayVale. We have written them in plain language. If a sentence could reasonably be read two ways, we will interpret it in the way that is more favourable to you.
The service
StayVale is a tool for creating and publishing digital guest guides for accommodation properties.
You can create, edit, and preview a guide before paying. Publishing a guide at its own web address requires a paid plan.
We aim to keep published guides available and working reliably, but we do not promise a specific uptime or uninterrupted availability.
A StayVale guide should not be your only way of providing guests with essential information, such as emergency contacts, access instructions, or door codes.
Your content stays yours
Everything you write or upload to StayVale remains yours.
You give us permission to store, process, and display your content only as needed to provide the service. This includes displaying your content to people who access your published guide.
You can delete your content at any time through your account. When you delete content, our permission to use it for providing the service ends, subject to information we may need to retain for legal or legitimate business purposes.
You are responsible for:
- Having the right to use everything you upload, including photographs, videos, logos, and other materials.
- Making sure the information in your guide is accurate and appropriate for your guests.
- Making sure your guide does not contain information that you are not legally allowed to publish.
Billing
Paid plans are billed in advance through Polar, our payment provider and merchant of record.
Depending on the plan you choose, you may be billed every three months or yearly. The price and billing period will be shown before you complete your purchase.
Your plan determines how many guides you can have published at the same time.
- You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops your next renewal charge.
- Your current paid period continues. Your guides remain published until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Your content is not deleted when you cancel. You can republish your guides later by returning to a paid plan.
- Prices may change. If we change the price of your existing plan, we will give you reasonable notice before the new price applies.
- Service interruption. If StayVale becomes unusable for an extended period because of an issue on our side, contact us and we will consider an appropriate refund for the affected period.
- First payment guarantee. Your first paid payment is covered by the 30-day guarantee below.
30-day guarantee
If StayVale is not right for you, contact us within 30 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment in full. You do not need to give us a reason.
- The 30 days begin from your first payment on the account, not from later renewals.
- The refund is for the amount you paid and is returned through the original payment method via Polar. Their processing times may apply.
- Once the refund is issued, your published guides will be unpublished.
- Your content remains in your account and can be republished if you return to a paid plan.
- The guarantee is available once per account and is not intended to cover repeated cycles of subscribing and requesting a refund.
After the 30-day guarantee period, the normal cancellation terms apply.
Acceptable use
You may not use StayVale to:
- Publish content you do not have the right to publish.
- Publish unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, threatening, or harmful content.
- Harass, threaten, or endanger another person.
- Impersonate another person or business.
- Attempt to access another user's account, guide, or private information.
- Attack, disrupt, or interfere with StayVale or its infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass security or access controls.
We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect StayVale, our users, guests, or others, or where required by law.
Ending your account
You can stop using StayVale at any time and request deletion of your account and guides.
We may suspend or terminate an account if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms, or if your use creates a security, legal, or safety risk.
Where reasonably possible, we will explain the issue and give you an opportunity to fix it before terminating your account.
If we terminate your account for a reason that is not caused by your violation of these terms, we will refund any unused portion of your paid subscription where appropriate.
Liability
StayVale is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We work to keep the service reliable, secure, and available, but we cannot guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
You are responsible for the information you provide to your guests and should keep essential information, such as emergency contacts and access details, available through appropriate backup methods.
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for claims arising from your use of StayVale is limited to the amount you paid us during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when StayVale or our services change.
When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify hosts with a live guide.
If you continue using StayVale after the updated terms take effect, you agree to the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you can cancel your subscription and stop using the service.
